The new Vans headquarters designed by Rapt Studio is LEED Platinum, the highest standard for sustainability, making it the most sustainable in all of Orange County. The 182,000 sq ft center houses 5 fully merchandised showrooms with upcoming collections, a retail mock store, and a working library.
How a highly productive collaboration among a trio of creative Stuttgart-based architects and the client turned an empty lot in Esslingen into a family home for ages. “ We want to raise a family here. The kids should be able to play and the house should be open for guests.”
Sorrento Beach house is comprised of a raw concrete internal shell, wrapped in a timber exterior. The thermal mass provided by the concrete is insulated externally providing stable internal temperatures, and the timber exterior shades the concrete, further eliminating heat loads in summer.
Located on a small island off the coast of Maine, this project began as a renovation. Initially, our clients hoped that an existing building on their property could be rehabilitated: a structure that accompanied the 100 year old farmhouse that has been their summer home for close to 40 years.
The owner’s affection for a stone outcropping on her property inspired the design of this refuge house. Conceived as a retreat nestled into the rock, the Pierre (the French word for stone) celebrates the materiality of the site.
Project innovation / adjustable wooden furniture – In the living room, TV set, long bench, book shelf, display glass cabinet, lighting were all integrated into the featured bay window. The full height cabinet and small shoes cabinet nearby served with adjustable dining table, sliding bar table and two movable benches.
Dent Lounge is a new dental clinic in Kiev, Ukraine. The idea for its creation was a cosy interior with homy atmosphere. It was supposed to be capable of changing the patients’ attitude towards dentist clinics, make them like their visits to a dentist – and not only the attitude of adult patients, but of children too.
Thanks to Kafe Francin, a café situated just across a tram stop on Strossmayerovo náměstí, the people waiting for a tram have a reason to postpone their departure. A neon sign on each of two large windows leaves no one in doubt about what’s happening inside.
