The Norwegian Wild Reindeer Centre Pavilion is located at Hjerkinn on the outskirts of Dovrefjell National Park, overlooking the mountain Snøhetta. The 90 m2 building is open to the public and serves as an observation pavilion for the Wild Reindeer Foundation educational programmes.
Flexibility was also embedded in the brief for this project. With the idea of staying in this home for years to come, creating experiences was pivotal. The sliding glass and timber-battened screens, for example, fully retract to allow a seamless connection to the garden.
Brickface is a compact building situated at the rear of an existing house in Richmond, Melbourne. It consists of a garage at ground level, studio living/guest suite at first floor, and a roof deck.
Located in Hawthorn East, this black brick apartments (Ari apartments) lives in the heart of the historical brick-making area and only a stone’s throw away from the original brickworks site itself.
The modernisation process began in 2008, when the owners of one of the new flats faced an interesting task together with the architectural firm Saukkonen + Partners. Their particular part of the property had previously housed a bank, and converting this space into a home required a radically different layout.
The concept – a modern reinterpretation of the vernacular dogtrot house found commonly in Appalachia – aligns the more private program along the ridge creating a linear bar running east-west optimizing the long exposures of the building.

Interesting and high spec materials and finishes have been used throughout the entire renovation of this home. The house has been completely re-modelled to create a unique lateral living space on the ground floor with open plan reception through to conservatory kitchen
