The Rasa Beach House, designed by Roberto Aracri in collaboration with a skilled interior design team, is more than a home—it’s a celebration of the Búzios coastline and the lifestyle it inspires. For the owners, a Rio de Janeiro-based couple with adult children, this house represents the fulfillment of a long-held dream: a retreat where they can unwind, host loved ones, and connect with the serene beauty of the sea.
A Dream Built from the Ground Up
For years, the family owned a home in the same condominium, but it lacked what they truly craved—a direct connection to the beach. When the perfect piece of land came up for sale, they seized the opportunity to create something new, a home designed entirely around their needs and desires.
This wasn’t just about building a house—it was about designing a lifestyle. Therefore, the family envisioned a home that could comfortably accommodate their evolving lives, with spaces tailored for relaxation, socializing, and hosting guests. Every detail reflects their intimate understanding of the area and its unique charm, gained from years of living nearby.
A Home Built for Connection and Comfort
At its heart, the Rasa Beach House is designed for togetherness. The layout seamlessly integrates private and communal spaces, ensuring everyone—from the couple to their children and guests—feels at home. Moreover, the design allows for effortless transitions between leisure and living spaces.
Key features include:
- Main Suites: Spacious bedrooms with private closets and luxurious bathrooms create havens of relaxation for the couple and their children.
- Guest Suites: Three additional suites ensure visitors are treated to the same level of comfort.
- Leisure Spaces: A central pool, shielded from coastal winds, serves as the home’s focal point, surrounded by a sauna, games room, gym, and gourmet area.
- Beach Access: A lush lawn and deck extend the home’s living spaces right to the sand, creating a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor living.
Crafting a Timeless Coastal Aesthetic
The design draws inspiration from its surroundings, blending natural materials with a fresh, vibrant palette. For instance, wood plays a starring role, appearing in the frames, staircase, and slatted ceilings, lending warmth and texture to the home. Natural stone and ceramic finishes ground the interiors, while elements like woven straw and wicker add an organic, coastal touch.
Additionally, the color palette strikes a delicate balance: neutrals like raw beige and khaki create a soothing base, while accents of turquoise, coral, aqua, and navy blue bring the energy of the sea indoors. As a result, the home exudes a relaxed yet sophisticated charm.
Living with History and Personality
The home’s decor isn’t just about style—it’s deeply personal. Many pieces were brought from the family’s previous home, restored and reimagined to fit the new space. These treasures, like the Jangada Armchair by Jean Gillon, were paired with contemporary furniture to create a layered, lived-in feel.
Highlights of the decor include:
- Master Suite: Custom natural reed furniture, a turquoise gradient wall covering, and a stunning pendant light from the family’s travels create a tranquil retreat.
- Living Room: Anchored by the restored Jangada Armchair in a striking turquoise fabric, the space also features four Pitu armchairs by Aristeu Pires, arranged around a round coffee table to encourage conversation.
A Home That Feels Alive
The Rasa Beach House isn’t just a structure—it’s an experience. The vibrant decor, the interplay of natural materials, and the thoughtful layout make it a place where life unfolds beautifully. Furthermore, the home seamlessly adapts to both quiet mornings by the sea and lively evenings filled with friends and family.
By blending tradition with modernity and functionality with artistry, the Rasa Beach House perfectly captures the essence of coastal living: relaxed, inviting, and full of life.
