The layout was created from 2 apartments of 10th floor and 11th. Liked the staircase in the interior – it was wooden – which means it could easily be replaced. Just like a large and spacious living room 25m2. It was also convenient to arrange the children’s rooms on the second floor. And there was an opportunity to build a sauna. We all are keen on mountain skiing and after winter trips to sports facilities – and in Permsky Krai there are more than 10 of them, it will be nice to return home and steam (modern stoves today allow you to give out the right steam).
Saranin Artemiy: In the design, for oneself and the family, first of all, the task was to drop in at least some housing. The source of inspiration was materials, or rather, how to apply them – taking into account the budget. The staircase itself is no longer a flat, but a house. To support this vector – we decided to make a ceiling from the Finnish old board, after having processed it.
During the construction, the ceiling looked strange. But having in my head the final picture – it is necessary to go to the end. Thus, the ceiling was highlighted by a country house vector. The same material made a brick. This tile – a brick, but pre-cut the tile, I asked the builders to withstand the picture of the masonry, the one that now we see in the photo.
It sets a more European character, like the detail itself. Using natural materials – such as metal, stone, wood, I managed to save and make an interior, in which it is always pleasant to come back. The floor had to be made of wood – but it got out of the budget. As a result, I applied vinyl, laying it with a Christmas tree with a perimeter fence.
Ideas appeared during a visit to the construction site. The fireplace was originally supposed to be working on biofuel, but with the birth of the third child – this idea was not realized. There were fears, although there even ventilation is laid down. And the fireplace area itself had to be active, and for today this is a small space where you can work on a laptop with a cup of coffee. Or the little Agate when she draws or molds us in the same room in the daytime – but not before the TV zone. Having a sofa zone in a circle – children really like running around – tables, sofa chairs. Artyom (son) learned to ride Heelys, circling all zones and maneuvering.
Furniture, for example, in the living room area is planned in such a way – so that it is possible to hold events (earlier we did not have such an opportunity, in view of the limited area). Thus, I designed a 7-meter sofa, consisting of sections. Having mobility for the new year, I collect a large dining table, and the sofa at its full length is properly positioned. And 3 months we live in a different setting (in view of the fact that birthdays and other Russian holidays are tied with the new year).
Painting – I’m still fond of painting and sometimes I write – I drew a picture – a soft self-portrait (Salvador Dali), hung next to a guitar. (I studied painting in parallel at the Academy of Painting, and drew copies of works – which I found incomprehensible and interesting for me.
Guitar – I write and play on all musical instruments – at home only a guitar and a combo amplifier, the rest was taken to the office, where I play with my friends in full.
Chest of drawers – bought an old English chest of drawers. Someone from friends moved to another city – they felt sorry for throwing it = 5 years ago, I repainted it with children in the English flag (at that time there was no such furniture, now it’s kitsch already) Then we made it up and varnished it .
The gypsum head (next to the fireplace) is my coursework, for which I received an advanced scholarship. This is Aivazovsky, Ivan Konstantinovich (or Hovhannes Ayvazyan), I was inspired by his work with the sea, I also made copies / to understand how the paint / smear brush to reproduce the moment of the sea wave. The work of the sculptor helped me to understand the volume more – now I use this experience in design – as an extended spatial thinking, to see through the volume.
Mexican carpet I got with one of the objects. When analyzing the old housing – I saw it, and customers were offered to pick me up. Of course I agreed.
Wall panels with routes to New York and Los Angeles I got from my own sister, who has long been living in Las Vegas. She also brought me American flags and numbers.
Crystal chandelier, I bought at the sale of the interiors of one of the restaurants. This often happens in my profession. But not always everything is suitable and not on time) – for reference: the restaurants are closed and everything is sold at that time – when the crisis comes it is a moment – when there is no extra money at all.
Since childhood I have been very fond of plants, and living in our region – a deficit of greenery is very strongly revealed. Having bought southern plants, I did, as I dreamed all my life. Many will say smiling – oh, like in the jungle, but believe me so comfortably, and everything that is organized in the circle of this interior. I even agree that there are many details, but this is the atmosphere in which I enjoy spending time. On the photo report I showed how the interior is interesting during the day and how evening lighting starts to work, when there is zoning, and some mystery, supported by plants. From palm trees I like the “gobo” effect – when the light glides through the foliage. A beautiful late sunset and a sense of the garden, in the apartment – it’s wonderful.
When creating a fireplace, I needed the student’s experience as a sculptor in the Academy of Painting. Having formed from the DSP the frame of the fireplace – we cut out the desired profile from the metal according to the sketch – and then pulled out the gypsum mixture in shape. As a result, a “gypsum” fireplace turned out.
Throughout the interior, I pursued the goal of not doing everything perfectly (meaning not negligence), but naturalness! The ceiling is unique – each board is unlike the other. Fireplace uneven -t.k made by hand, etc.
