The design for this Hamilton courtyard house utilises the existing footprint of a pair of timber cottages linked by a shared driveway. This arrangement had resulted in vehicles dominating the north facing backyards and the cottages having long disowned facades.
The Bundeena house is a retreat from busy city lives that encourages a slower way of living by the beach. It is a garden and cooking focused holiday home and a place where children and adults are connected

With an available footprint of only 45 sqm, our brief and challenge was to create a unique and energy efficient addition to a double storey terrace house on a steeply sloping site in inner city Melbourne.
