Located in the inner suburb of Brighton East, 11 km south-east from Melbourne’s central business district, the H.I.V.E. (Hybridized Interlocking Vertical Environments) x Five is sited behind an existing façade on a tight 220m2 site with constraints on the north and south of boundary wall construction.
Stanton & Co is a restaurant interior fit out of an existing heritage shell. The venue holds 250 patrons and is a fine bar/bistro offering internal and external dining with an open show kitchen.
The Willisdene house leverages Australia’s largest latent asset – the stereotypical backyard – to create a new heart for the dwelling and family, re-conceptualise the relationship between the house and garden, and to embed landscape in the ritual of everyday life.
The Two Pavilions House is a striking modern timber-clad home set within the rural landscape of Phillip Island. Replacing an old much-loved holiday shack, the priority for the new design was creating a place that would suit the needs of multiple generations of the family simultaneously.
The Two Angle house presents to the street as a modest single family home in scale with many of the older post war homes which exist in the area. It is only upon entry that the true scale of the house is revealed.
Carlton Terrace is Period Victorian at front; light, angular and dynamic at rear. The owners asked for a break from the past. A mature couple, with a large and extended family, looked forward to new spaces filled with natural light, all-year living, and the ability to connect visually with their surroundings.
A large family home over three levels, stepping down a cliff top site overlooking Freshwater Beach to the north. The home was designed to take advantage of the stunning location while providing a private sanctuary for the owners and their young family.
The design for this dwelling transforms an existing inner city cottage into a contemporary, light filled home. New kitchen, living and dining areas and a shady cantilevered white steel pergola extend out to connect the interiors of the house to its yard and outdoor living area.
