On top of an existing 1950s holiday home, hidden in the forest, a sculptural, compact and sustainable rooftop extension climbs out of the original structure and seeks it’s way towards the great vista over the open grassland enclosed by the forest. The extension is situated within the leaves and feels like a secluded tree house.

This cabin is situated on the shore of a lake in Ladysmith, Canada. On this private land for more than 60 years there has been a family cabin. Due to the degradation of the old cabin, the owner decided to build a new cottage, resorting for this project to the architects’ services from Kariouk Architects.
Hunter Leggitt Studio has designed and built this beautiful cabin near Isabella lake from California. The entire project required 12 months of work and it has relied on the contribution of 7 students from architecture.
Designed and built by 20-year old Robin Falck (now 27 years old industrial designer). Designed it prior to his military service in 2010 and built it during the summer of 2011 just before his military service.
