Ecuestre House is located in Costa Esmeralda, 13 km north of the city of Pinamar and 4 hours away from the city of Buenos Aires. Its name makes reference to the stable and the two polo courses it is near to and, this area’s simple architecture has—maybe unconsciously—guided the concept of its design.
Villa GK was built by request of a private client, who was looking to renovate his old Algarvian villa. Result of this intervention is a minimalist contemporary house which responds to the owners view on quality of life, privacy and sustainable living.
After a long search for a vacation home, our client’s patience paid off when a property in the remote Sea Ranch of California presented itself. When they saw the unique ocean front site, they instantly knew it would serve as the perfect escape from their fast-paced city life.
This barn serves as the main area to socialize for a California family retreat. Big Sur Barn was completed by Studio Schicketanz, a full service architectural firm based in Carmel, California. It was relocated from the mid-West and refurbished for this purpose, according to the Indian building principles of sthapatya veda.Â
