Claywood House, a new 5-bedroom low-carbon home has been designed to meet the needs of a wheelchair dependant client and to create spaces that allow her to live independently.
Adam Knibb Architects were approached to put together a contemporary extension for a Grade II Listed House in Alresford. Hurdle House has a long history within the village, having been part of the original sheep fairs back in 1792.
International enterprise software company Infor were approaching the end of their lease and wanted to consolidate their space into one floor to enable collaboration between their teams.
Set in beautiful Hampshire, the brief for this project was to design a cottage where friends and family could spend long periods of time just next door to the prime residence within the existing Farm.
The client’s aim was to create a contemporary two storey extension to a historic family home, offering flexible spaces, whilst ensuring the addition fit sympathetically within its context.
The Farmer’s House acts as the UK base for AR Design Studio’s clients, who return to the English countryside from their travels to tend to their farmstead.
The Woodpeckers house sits on a low brick plinth which provides a raised entrance area, as well as larger terraces around the house. The ground conditions mean that the gardens can suffer with boggy lawns at times.
