This is a private house project for the three-generation family located in an emerging residential area, 15-minutes drive from the center of Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
The Vietnam traditional house is stretched from front to back creating continuous functional spaces. These spaces’ boundaries are estimated by light with different intensity and darkness. The layout utilizes the wind direction of the local area in different seasons.
The Alpes Office has feeling and is environmentally sustainable, as were the villages of the past. Originally the large lot contained some old houses, white pampas grass, native bamboo shrubs, and plants that survived on the ambient conditions with little input from people.
This modern vertical home is located in a calm, quiet area in Nha Trang city, distanced from the busy center of a city full of tourists. KAstudio approached the design with a goal to create a space which the owners ‘family could spend peaceful, quiet and relaxing moments together.

Atlas Hotel was completed in 2016 by the Vietnamese studio Vo Trong Nghia Architects. Located in Hoi An Old Town, the hotel provides 48 guest rooms including all kinds of resort services such as restaurant and café, healthcare center with spa, foot massage, gym and swimming pool.
Under the rapid urbanization, cities in Vietnam have diverged far from their origins as low density tropical green space. Newly developed urban areas are losing their connection with nature. Binh house by Vo Trong Nghia Architects (VTN Architects) is one project in the “House for Trees” series, a prototypical housing design, providing green space within high density neighbourhood.
