The Puente house is designed and will be built as a piece of furniture, out of cedar, a local material widely used for structural properties and rot resistance.
Located east of Gothenburg, the Öjersjö-house is a modest dwelling overlooking the lake Stora Kåsjön. Designed by Swedish Bornstein Lyckefors Architects Villa Öjersjö is a contemporary black wooden house. The dwelling interweaves with the site in a concept where the program is swept under the ”carpet” by lifting the landscape.
The brief was for a primary residence for a couple without children with provision for occasionally used guest accommodation for friends visiting from overseas. The site as presented was a steep slope with magnificent sea and coastal views to the east into which a building platform had already been cut, with its associated timber pile retaining wall.
This heavy constraint did not limit the ambition of extending this family home and opening connections with the garden, while balancing the need of protecting the privacy from the overlooking neighbouring properties.
At Brass House, the design revolves around the Garden Room, the value of custom detailed, timber windows and doors, brickwork and in-situ concrete elements soften through native landscaping.
The Chelsea SW10 is an interwar semi-detached property in a pocket of land to the rear of other gardens. The basement extends under the garden, with a metre of soil for sustainable drainage.
Kennedy Residence: a replacement house on a site that sits at the westernmost end of a linear village in the Chilterns, with distant views to the west and north across rolling farmland.
Completed in 2014, Cheeran House was the recipient of RIBA South Regional and RIBA National awards in 2016, and featured on Grand Designs as a candidate for the RIBA House of the Year.
