The concept of 180 Samui villa started with the analysis of this particular site: A breath-taking view to Chaweng bay (KohSamui, Thailand) and a massive rock where the project has to hang on. The result is a horizontal design, low rooflines and a simple color and material palette to make the space belong to the environs.

he journey through the Glen Isla house takes visitors along a timber-clad wall punctuated by slot windows framing views to the garden. The interior scheme of the ground floor reflects the formal materiality – solid, grounded concrete terraces and rendered block balanced with polished-concrete screed floors and charcoal coloured ceilings.

The Bar House site is 13 acres of gently sloping land abutting a 500 acre protected forest preserve. Access to sunlight and views informed our strategy to locate the structure at the site’s highest elevation. Two linear volumes are stacked in perpendicular fashion.
