A new micro brewery office in Toronto’s historical art deco “destructor” building – part of the R.C. Harris legacy of infrastructure buildings. This new renovation takes care to preserve the original interior brick and openings, as well as the palimpsest of additions that came after.
Victorian Semi in Toronto Gets a New Life
This renovation to a Victorian semi in Toronto’s Riverdale neighbourhood is a fine balance of restoration and the introduction of contemporary elements. The kitchen was moved from the rear of the house to the middle, with the dining room situated at the front of the house in the former parlour.
Petaluma House, Ontario / Trevor McIvor Architect
Petaluma House, a split-level, open plan contemporary dwelling is located in a rural subdivision near Whitby. Surrounded by very traditional custom homes, this split-level house stands out with its’ clean lines, prominent roof lines and an elegant composition.
Family Chalet Renovation in Hockley Valley, Ontario
This much loved family chalet built in the 1960’s was in need of renovation. Out went interior finishes circa 1970, a too-narrow deck and tiny windows that only gave a glimpse of the spectacular view across the hills and pond below.
City House / Cindy Rendely Architexture
City House is an urban oasis located at the heart of the city on an established residential street. Characterized by traditional Victorian homes, the original neighbouring houses have long occupied the tight, narrow lots typical of the area.
North Toronto House Completely Renovated by Asquith Architects
This project began as a simple addition to the rear of a two storey detached house in Bedford Park. Through the design and construction process the renovation expanded to include a full renovation weaving a new and modern aesthetic into the existing house.
Stouffville Residence, Ontario / Trevor McIvor Architect
Stouffville Residence is grounded in the earth while being cantilevered over a vast landscape. The stone entry wall, low and private, hints program through a series of translucent glass boxes punching through the otherwise monolithic wall.
