Located in Belelo, Meixedo, Viana do Castelo, Quinta do Fortunato, a structure of Turismo no Espaço Rural (Tourism on a Rural Space) resulted in the design of two lodging units, with the exploitation of the preexisting buildings, long ago used as cut of cattle and rain fed.
The Alves da Veiga project aimed to reconvert an old typography built in the nineteenth century and abandoned for decades in a set of six apartments, maintaining all the structure and spatial concept of preexistence. The original building, though appearing from the outside only two storeys in fact contained a curious floor + mezzanine organization that actually embodied four habitable floors.
Portuguese studio Arriba has renovated Bica do Sapato Apartment, turning it into a spacious and full of light home. From the first day we visited this site, we understood the potential of this curious layout. It resembled a maze with several heights, features we ended up exploring on a deeper level later.

The Rua da Boavista House project had as objective the conversion of the nineteenth century buildings into 10 apartments, keeping the entire structure and construction principles of the old building.
