The Floating Box house – the house is located in the center of the country, on a 500 m2 plot, on which 300 m2 is built on two stories. The idea for the building is based on interior and exterior patios that correspond in a unique manner with the outdoors.
This beautiful property located in Kfar Masaryk, a Kibbutz in the western Galilee, was planned by architect Adi Aronov as a pastoral and inspirational home that reflects the transformation that the Kibbutz community and movement are going through.
The CAPO House, located near Baie Saint-Paul, in the Charlevoix region of Quebec, proposes an architectural approach that privileges the body’s movements in space. The residence roots itself in the site’s specific quality: a rocky cliff, perilous and at the limits of habitability.
The client owned property in the rolling hills of Caledon Ontario and wanted views to be framed over the countryside – allowing particular points of view and rejecting others with less-than- spectacular previously built features.
This 700 square meters isolated single-family house, with a CLT wood structure, was designed for a family with small children who trusted Ábaton for the project. We were inspired by the 12,000+ Eichler Homes of Northern California that posed unreconstructed Modern homes built by the post-war developer Joseph Eichler. Accordingly, we turned our attention to the design of a contemporary modern home that could be built affordably and reproduced like so many of the builder plans available in an array of traditional idioms.
