Artist Retreat în Upstate New York de GLUCK 2

Artist Retreat in Upstate New York / GLUCK+

Located in a land conservancy, Artist Retreat by GLUCK+ is a collection of wood-clad cubes orient toward a pond at the bottom of a sloped site. These eight forms touch the ground lightly and follow the topography of the land, linked by glass enclosed hallways. Their simple shapes are strong silhouettes in an agricultural landscape, organized in a shifting grid akin to agricultural plots in the area.

Coromandel Bach Crosson Clarke Carnachan Architects

Coromandel Bach / Crosson Architects

Coromandel Bach House was designed by Crosson Architects. Located in Coromandel, New Zealand, this vacation home was conceived as a simple timber container that could be closed off when vacated. Conceived as a container sitting lightly on the land, this long rectangular house sits halfway up a north-facing manuka-clad hill north of Whitianga

Tent House 6

Tent House / Chris Tate Architecture

Located in Waiheke Island, New Zealand, the Tent house is a small home designed by Chris Tate Architecture. Set in bush and bounded on three sides by roads and a wetland, the site was challenging. The tent-like structure of the house responds to those restrictions in a daring and dynamic way.

Michigan Lake House 1

Michigan Lake House / Desai Chia Architecture

Perched on a woodland bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, this home is an assemblage of three offset structures that play off each other— the ‘gathering’ structure contains the living room, kitchen and a covered ‘vista’ seating terrace; the two ‘sleeping’ structures house the master bedroom suite and three children’s bedrooms. A dining area breezeway connects all three structures.

Blanche Chalet 4

Blanche Chalet / ACDF Architecture

Situated in La Malbaie’s “Terrasses Cap à l’Aigle,” Blanche Chalet by ACDF Architecture is a modern homage to the vernacular homes of the Charlevoix region. This contemporary retreat blends seamlessly with its surroundings, using simple, refined architecture to complement the rugged landscape.
