Project: White Chocolate Offices
Architects: MARTIN Architects
Area: 385 sqm
Location: Belorodka, Kiev Region, Ukraine
Located in Belorodka, Kiev Region, the White Chocolate Offices was completed by MARTIN Architects in 2016.
From the architects: The premise is located on the ground floor of one of the houses in the LCD “White Chocolate”. Initially it was a cold, dark and damp basement, which required a complete transformation and redesign. The task was complicated by the fact that the basement space was permeated with columns, pylons and risers, which had to be taken into account when designing the layout of premises. Moreover, the architects had to worry about the technical nodes, communications and complete lack of heating.
This difficult task was accomplished with the help of a successful combination of various design techniques. All office space is divided into open and closed parts. The first includes a sales hall, a meeting room and a waiting room, and the second includes executive offices and a construction department.
Designers decided not to put the sales area in separate offices and created for them special cells, upholstered in carpet of different shades. The coverage makes the areas soundproof, and the bright colors enliven the space and fill it with light and coziness. They installed special illuminated rollers, to visually enlarge the small windows.
To visually diversify the former basement, while preserving its interesting features, it was decided in the interior design to build on the modern style, weaving elements of loft and contemporary.
In some rooms the interesting accent is an interesting multicolored panel, in others – the illuminated gray construction. But all these elements belong to the same style and correspond to a single concept.
Not the least role in the interior is played by a wood: it is furniture in some areas and massive wooden panels that bring a bit of naturalness and coziness to the interior, smoothing out the “roughness” of the concrete.
The main part of the office furniture consists of products created according to Igor Martin’s sketches by the Ukrainian company Home Ideas Supply. These are modern and functional items that fit well into the interior and provide employees with comfort.
In one of the rooms there was a place for a minimalistic picture reminiscent of the alien written language from the film “Arrival”, which carries a simple and clear message – a common language can be found absolutely with all customers (even extraterrestrials).
