The rooms making up this Old Jaffa house came together over hundreds of years – each with its own character and ground level. Refurbishing presented an opportunity to unite the rooms into one whole and in particular, to illuminate and brighten the dim space by opening it up toward the sea.

The Wedge house is a custom family home located in the eastern suburbs of Athens, in the mountainous and full of pine trees area of Pikermi, named Drafi. The site is quite distinctive and has many challenging features. The main complexity is the steep terrain with an almost 20-meter- height-difference from one side of the site to the other.
The Rifugio Pradidali lies at 2278 m a.s.l. and is a renowned departure point for many excursions and climbs in the Pala group in the Dolomites. Mimeus refurbished the old winter bivouac, which is usually used by mountaineers during the Rifugio’s winter closure.
The owner’s goal was to create a lifetime family home using salvaged materials from an antique farmhouse and barn that had stood on another portion of the site. The timber roof structure–as well as interior wood cladding and interior doors–were salvaged from that house and combined with new, sustainable materials
