Right after entering the 700 sqm. villa, the rustic, British style is surrounding you. You see bricks on the walls, a cosy fire place, and plenty of earth tones, like neutral brown and soft beige. To revive the chromatic palette of the house, orange touches fill the space in warmth and comfort.
Once an office building, the redesign of the house needed the repartitioning of the rooms and the creation of more bathrooms. It was a great opportunity to reinvent the bathrooms and give them spectacularity and unicity.
This is why one of the stars of this concept, along with the London-like vibe, is the master bathroom. The elegance of the spacious, one of a kind bathroom comes from the feeling that this is a comfortable bedroom where you can truly rest. The 50’s candelabre, the high-class painting of a famous Romanian painter, the beautiful, generous closet – all these elements define sophistication and transform the bathroom into a place of relaxation.
Another distinctive part of the house are the brick walls. Surrounded by a lot of white and beige, the walls make this place unique. To give continuity to the warm color of the brick, the hall floor to the other rooms has been covered in blue, green and brick-red tiles. It looks like a long carpet and adds a playful note to the whole design. Also, to cool down the brown tones of the brick and the oak plywood walls from the living and dining area, the other wall of the hall have been covered in a blue-gray plywood.
The comfort sensation is enhanced by the soft beige stair tread rug, which is completed by the sumptuous railing. Also, the kitchen keeps the vintage look: the floor has the same colorful tiles, while the old furniture is reconditioned in an antique white color with smooth blue touches.
Upstairs, the master bedroom lays on the space of two rooms, where one is a massive dressing and the other one the bedroom itself. The challenge here has been to build an entire wall in a room full of French doors. A tall headboard, from floor to ceiling, created the perfect place for the bed by hiding the windows behind it. The ceiling is covered in wooden plywood for a truly theatrical ambiance. The owners of the house love natural fabrics, so the bedding and the bench in front of the bed are upholstered in natural linen. For an intimate and comfortable sensation, the whole floor is covered with a smooth crème carpet, meant to balance the intense brown tones in the room.
This british-style home is the ideal combination of the country cottage style desired by the owners and Hamid Nicola Katrib’s elegance chic signature. The brick walls and white furniture are enhanced by intense orange and turquoise tones around the place, and comfort is raised to the rank of essence of the home.
