On October 7, 2024, luxury interior design firm Cheng Chung Design (CCD) opened a new office in Singapore. This move marks a major step in its global expansion. The space is also known as the CCD APAC Headquarters outside of Greater China. Situated in the lively Marina Bay district, the office offers panoramic views of Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, Merlion Park, and the Singapore Flyer.
A Fusion of Nature and Urban Energy
Singapore is famous for its lush greenery. Therefore, CCD merged tropical plants with modern lines inside the CCD APAC Headquarters. Large windows let in abundant natural light, balancing the calm of nature with the city’s vibrant skyline.
Influences of Traditional Chinese Gardens
Inspiration from classical Chinese gardens guided the design. Consequently, winding paths and partition screens encourage a sense of discovery at every turn. Meanwhile, the office celebrates cultural exchange with artworks such as “Physical Relationship” by Peng Libiao and “Glance Towards The Unknown” by Fathi Hassan.
Zones for Relaxation and Creativity
Each area has a clear purpose but blends seamlessly into the next. For instance, a greenhouse-themed meeting room overflows with sunlight and greenery, while a refined lounge area supports relaxed conversation. In addition, the gallery’s wide windows frame the cityscape, creating a space for quiet thought or friendly discussion.
Modern Meets Traditional
CCD chose a mix-and-match approach for the furniture and decor. Sleek metal accents contrast with carved wooden chairs and rattan textures. Moreover, an open kitchen island features an emerald jade countertop and a Kaelo smart wine cooler, proving that aesthetics and practicality can coexist with ease.
Sustainability and Innovation
Many items are reused or repurposed, reflecting CCD’s respect for the environment. Furthermore, the office adopts a hybrid platform that merges online and offline communication. This setup helps team members collaborate more effectively while exploring fresh ideas.
Harmonious Color and Light
Finally, the color palette of black, white, green, and brown creates a calm, natural ambiance. Curved partitions guide light and shadow into graceful arcs. As a result, every corner of the CCD APAC Headquarters feels inviting, inspiring people to pause, reflect, and admire the subtle details around them.
