The interior design of this country house was conceived by designer Josep Ruà. The house has an area of 500 square meters and is located in Requena, Valencia, Spain.
Whoever said a house in the country need be countrified could not be more mistaken; the proof is how modern elements prevail in this project. Of course, wood is omnipresent and there are winks of complicity to rustic interiors (such as the kitchen table and the outdoor furniture) all over the place, but the contemporany flavour is undeniable.
Nature is, nevertheless, the main leitmotiv and it penetrates every corner in the shape of porcelain horses and pineapples, of flowers blossoming from the vases, pots and cushions along with long-tailed birds that crawl over the wallpaper, while in the bathroom the patterned tiles become alive with fishes and water lilies. Light spills over the objects through the picture windows and the sun-like wall lamps. Wood, wicker, clay and glass bring the essence of the countryside without succumbing to an excess of rusticity.
