The conversion of an abandoned building in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood to a restaurant. Our scope included designing a new wooden store-front façade. The restaurant features Neapolitan-style wood fired pizzas, and the wood oven is the central focus of the space. The custom tile glaze that we commissioned for the bar feels fresh and vibrant as well as classic and historic.
The name of the restaurant, Del Popolo, means ‘of the people’ and from that name came our concept of decorating the interior walls with portraits of people that we sourced from all over the world. Long central tables allow for a more communal ‘of the people’ dining experience.
