New life for driftwood and unique furniture / Giovanni Angelozzi

„These works are unique and unrepeatable, made by me, with driftwood found on the Maldivian beaches after heavy storms. Each root, tells a story, each timber has some unique features that I have tried to highlight the craftsmanship and my love and my passion for nature”.

With these words, Giovanni Angelozzi presents his works of an unique design through which he tries to overcome the limit imposed by the simple material and express intrinsic value and beauty. Modeling the mangrove wood, hibiscus and other species that are found only in this latitude, Giovanni Angelozzi tries to represent in his works the movement and “evolution” of the matter in time. He manages to give the wood a new life out of the natural circuit, at the discretion of the waves and sun on the beaches from Maldives. Combined with glass, the roots found on the beaches in Maldives are transformed from a simple piece of wood, through cleaning, polishing and treatment with natural oils into unique pieces of furniture. Giovanni’s works were brought one by one from the islands in Italy, each product line bearing the name of the species of tree from which the wood comes. Genuine, these works may remove the monotony from any house, leaving room for creativity and imagination that can give birth to a story for each root. Via Radice in Movimento
