South Villa is a five-story penthouse in the award-winning Clifton Terraces apartments on Victoria Road, Cape Town. Its elevated position on the iconic Lion’s Head takes in extravagant ocean views and local landmarks such as Table Mountain and Clifton’s pristine beaches.
In this 450 m2 penthouse distributed on two floors with exterior terraces and located in the upper area of Barcelona, a comprehensive interior design, decoration and styling reform was carried out.
Back Bay Penthouse was conceived as a ‘home base’ for a couple and their extended family. The design team faced the challenge of incorporating the clients’ desire for a clean, minimal space into the historic context of the Back Bay.
The space was designed for the 2019 CASACOR SC and can be described as a “living bedroom”. The 40m² room is an invitation to rest and comfort. The name comes from the expression “to be on cloud nine” which represents a state of happiness and satisfaction.
This Grade II listed 1860s residence in the Little Venice Conservation Area of London had undergone successive decades of alteration, resulting in the almost complete loss of all internal historic architectural detailing.

In this loft residence, the shell of the space is articulated by the exposure of its limed brick enclosure and sprinklers and overhead utilities. All added partitions are articulated in a white lacquer panel system by differentiating vocabularies of old and new.
