In his third participation at CASACOR and second in São Paulo, architect Natan Gil unveils Loft Whispers of the Mountains—a 90 m² sanctuary nestled in a heritage‐listed building at Parque da Água Branca. Here, clean lines and a neutral palette serve as a silent stage, allowing nature, memory, and sculptural furniture to tell an evocative story.
A Silent Canvas for Collective Dreams
First, the loft greets visitors with a white backdrop that almost feels like fresh snow. Consequently, every signature piece instantly stands out. Moreover, the Dell’Anno white woodwork and light wood flooring reinforce the space’s elegance while maintaining an air of subtlety. In harmony with the exhibition’s theme, “Sowing Dreams,” Gil underscores that true happiness stems from shared aspirations rather than solitary pursuits. Therefore, the loft’s atmosphere evokes belonging, unity, and sensitivity.
Nature Rising Within
Furthermore, nature isn’t merely decorating the loft—it’s reclaiming it. As if sprouting from walls and concrete fissures, organic forms and floral motifs permeate the environment. Meanwhile, a parametric architectural wall subtly mimics the undulating dunes of a desert, reinforcing this metaphor. At the same time, a moss-clad table floats above the floor, its base sculpted to echo the Serra do Curral’s rolling peaks. Consequently, city and nature appear in perfect coexistence, each reflecting the other.
Sculptural Furniture as Storytellers
In addition to the moss table, the custom Kamy rug stretches across the floor like an extension of the mountain itself. Similarly, the Borbo chair—light and delicate—conjures a butterfly at rest, while the Dió sofa, braided like Minas cheese, weaves past and present into one cohesive form. Other pieces—fireplace, stools, cabinets, and the Minas chaise—all pay homage to Minas Gerais’s topography. Thus, Gil’s collection reads like a conceptual art gallery, each object inviting contemplation.
Finally, natural light streams through the restored windows, bathing the loft in a gentle glow. In the bathroom, a rounded tub—shaped like a sliced queijo minas—sits beside a Pinot Grigio stone portal and an organic mirror, creating an intimate dance of craft and material. Ultimately, Loft Whispers of the Mountains stands as an intentional, poetic invitation: to connect with nature, share collective dreams, and rediscover the roots that bind us all.
