This micro-apartment in the Algovia region of Bavaria, Germany, showcases our vision for small-space living. We transformed a 1970s high-rise studio into a functional, contemporary two-room home that offers comfort and style within just 31 m².

Maximizing Every Square Meter

Initially, we began with a complete gut renovation, which allowed us to reorganize the layout and maximize every square meter. Then, our team reoriented key elements within the structure to create distinct functional zones. As a result, we minimized circulation space and enhanced the usable living area, thereby boosting spatial efficiency throughout the apartment.

When guests enter, they find a small foyer equipped with a built-in wardrobe and ample storage. Next, the main living space unfolds into a bright, open area that includes a fully equipped kitchen with a dining zone, which flows directly into a light-filled living room. Moreover, we arranged the bedroom to include an en-suite bathroom and a study niche, all designed to make the most of the limited space.

Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Connection

Furthermore, we extended the living space onto a refreshed balcony that offers serene views of the nearby lake, mountains, and picturesque allotment gardens. In addition, this design blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, thereby inviting guests to enjoy nature as part of their daily lives.

A Minimalist and Sustainable Aesthetic

To enhance the minimalist aesthetic while keeping the space practical, we used a harmonious color and material palette. For example, pastel cabinetry with gold accents warms the kitchen, and we integrated lighting along with carefully chosen furnishings to create a seamless blend of design and function throughout the apartment.

Additionally, we embraced sustainability throughout the renovation by sourcing nearly all furniture, appliances, and lighting through reuse and secondhand channels. Consequently, this eco-friendly approach not only lowers environmental impact but also reduces costs and contributes to a high-end, curated look that feels unique and full of character.

A Thoughtful Redefinition of Home

Finally, from the initial concept and planning to construction supervision and interior furnishing, we managed every detail with care. As a result, this micro-apartment demonstrates how thoughtful design can redefine living, proving that sustainability and high-quality design can coexist beautifully—even in the smallest of homes.
