The design team for The Meadow Home was inspired by prominent views and beautiful slopes to build a structure on to the landscape to minimize its massing on the originally undeveloped site.
The clients for The Farm were determined to create a contemporary, sustainable, and functional home for their family within the building constraints of urban San Francisco.
The clients of The Sanctuary, recent empty-nesters planning ahead to retirement, hoped to downsize and simplify in the design of their new Palo Alto home. The Sanctuary was constructed as a modern house that allows the landscape to speak first.
Overlooking the natural elegance of the Mount Sutro Open Reserve, the Twin Peaks Residence is a direct reflection of the occupants who live there, two highly active 30-somethings with a passion for yoga and a thirst for travel.
Upon entering this dynamic space, one’s mind might not immediately jump to the quaint yet historic past embedded into the bones of this Battery St. location. In fact, if not for the humble design elements of Douglas fir beams, high ceilings, and stall like enclosures, there would be no indication of its original purpose.
The clients for the Creekside Residence, a pair of Silicon Valley serial entrepreneurs, approached the firm looking to create a unique home for work and play for themselves and their three active boys.
The original space, a 70’s era home with panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay, lacked the unique charm and character desired to match the client’s eclectic tastes. Seeking to infuse a sense of their unique personal style, the homeowners tasked Feldman Architecture with the challenge of transforming the property into a sophisticated library of vinyl records, design books, and vintage Coca-Cola bottles
Atop a ridge in the Santa Lucia mountains of Carmel, California, an oak tree stands elevated above the fog and wrapped at its base in this ranch retreat. The weekend home’s design grew around the 100-year-old Valley Oak to form a horseshoe-shaped house that gathers ridgeline views of Oak, Madrone, and Redwood groves at its exterior and nestles around the tree at its center.
Just south of San Francisco, this modern bohemian home endured a complete transformation with its most extreme conversions redefining the entry to the house as well as adding a level of uniformity to the exterior façade.
Anchored into a gently sloping site on a quiet suburban cul-de-sac, this Los Altos Hills house is a bold, modernist composition of simple forms reflective of the client’s motivation to create a speculative development for a new generation of homeowner enamored with contemporary architecture.
Recently completed by Feldman Architecture, Healdsburg House was designed as an open air pavilion to embrace the sweeping views.
