Giulietti Schouten Architects is a Portland-based architecture firm designing unique, client-driven projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and nationally. Founded by Dave Giulietti, AIA in 1987, and joined by partner Tim Schouten in 1993, the firm builds on their 30+ years of experience creating places for people that value the significance of design. Having completed hundreds of residential and light-commercial buildings, the foundation of our success comes from listening to our clients and their goals in order to create beautiful and functional architecture that makes a difference in their lives.
A modern design with an open plan was desired, and an existing 2-story Valle Vista House house in NW Portland was vetted for a potential renovation. The existing main level was reorganized and opened up, and a third level addition for a master suite was added atop.
This 1957 mid-century modern house sits on a 1 acre lot in SW Portland with an incredible view looking east toward the river and SE Portland. The single bedroom, 2-bedroom guest house residence needed a more functional floor plan.
Situated on the edge of a canyon overlooking the Deschutes River, the existing Redmond ranch house lacked personality, unlike its charismatic owners. Three modern additions redefine the structure and create a more functional plan for the retired ranch owners.
