About Masquespacio

Masquespacio is an award winning creative consultancy created in 2010 by Ana Milena Hernández Palacios and Christophe Penasse. Combining the 2 disciplines of their founders, interior design and marketing, the Spanish design agency creates custom-made branding and interior projects through a unique approach that results in fresh and innovative concepts. Awarded in 2016 with the “Massimo Dutti New Values” award by Architectural Digest Spain and the “Wave of the Future” award by Hospitality Design USA they have been rewarded with a continued international recognition by media specialized in design, fashion and lifestyle trends. They have worked on projects in several countries like Norway, USA, Germany and Spain.

Ana Milena Hernández Palacios was born in the colombian city Bogota the 28 of august 1982. From young age on she developed a creative talent participating in the decorative events from her mother. It was in 2001, at the age of 18 that she decided to start an adventure in Europe moving to Spain. There she worked the first years as a window dresser and responsible of merchandising for the stores of Maximoda. However as she was fascinated by the world of interior design she decided to start studying interior design at the well known design school of Valencia Barreira. After finishing her studies she worked for a while in an architecture studio where she realized very soon that she wanted to develop her own style. The entrepreneurial spirit of her parents always had been very present and that’s what convinced her without a doubt to launch +Quespacio. The aim with +Quespacio is very defined, design creative spaces taking in count the needs from her clients and involucrate the different areas of design with the goal to create added value for their establishments.

After the big success of Nozomi sushi bar with a waiting list of 2 months, founders José Miguel and Nuria, together with their disciple Clara, decided to continue to study their passion for Japanese food. This time they wanted to introduce a totally new concept through Hikari, Yakitori Bar, traduced literally in a skewers bar that as well as his big brother Nozomi carries on the name of a high velocity Japanese train.

Masquespacio presents us the latest interior design project for La Manera, a gastrobar in the old town of Valencia. The project for La Manera consists in seeking to create a hospitality concept that could work by day and by night, adaptable to each moment and requirement, starting with a brunch and coffee during the morning, converting itself in a restaurant during the evening and ending up as a cocktail bar.

Valencia Lounge Hostel Revamped by Masquespacio

Valencia Lounge Hostel is the most recent interior design project completed by Spanish studio Masquespacio. The hostel is located in a historical building, completely renovated, in the Valencian quarter called “El Carmen”. There are 11 neo-classical bedrooms, really nice and luminous, and every room has a private balcony.
