The Sonoma Farmhaus project was designed for a cycling enthusiast with a globally demanding professional career, who wanted to create a place that could serve as both a retreat of solitude and a hub for gathering with friends and family.
Located in a peaceful valley with birdsong the only sound that breaks the silence, the concrete brutalist form is both contrasting and yet compliments the setting it resides in.
Party Wall was an opportunity to explore how two houses could work under one roof. The singular roof form allowed for an efficiency in siting the project amongst the surrounding green.
Complete re-strengthening was needed for this heritage building. The brief called for a comfortable, stylish west facing apartment, with an open, flexible and dynamic series of spaces that would allow plenty of opportunity for quiet times and big gatherings too.
The LeVo house is located in the Tebet area and appears towering with a black checkered facade pattern that seems unique compared to the surrounding houses.
