We were very fortunate to work with a couple who, devoted to the ideals of minimalism’s stark allure, asked us to design a house in the foothills of Tucson, Arizona, located in the profoundly diverse Sonoran Desert.
Villa 9010 is a new, two-storey, energy-efficient home for a young family in the seaside village of Dalkey, South County Dublin. Constructed in the side garden of the Client’s redbrick childhood home, at the entrance to a typical suburban cul de-sac, the site was previously occupied by the family’s garage and boat shed.
Located on a unique inside-corner lot backing onto a ravine, the Thornwood house is composed to respectfully address the scale, opacity and materiality of the rich and historic streetscape in which it is placed.
The architect was contacted to provide design services completing the unfinished adaptive reuse of the historic 19th century Cohen Building in downtown Nashville. A shell renovation begun a decade earlier by another group had gutted the building and inserted two fire stairs and an elevator shaft before work stalled.

This four bed family house sits in the heart of the Kent countryside surrounded by mature trees and gardens. This black modern house encompasses a mixture of framed and linear views across four carefully sculpted gardens that aim to each capture a piece of the surrounding landscape.
A contemporary duplex apartment in a new, residential building. The central idea behind the design was the creation of visual link between the floors (15th and 16th), to reinforce the vertical relationships and transform the cross sections of the spaces into more important and significant elements.
A wooden construction on a concrete slab, the rural cottage is clad with burnt hardwood panelling on the outside, utilizing a method well-known in Japan, among other countries, to enhance the durability of the wood.
