The Bagatelle brand began in the meatpacking district of Manhattan, New York. Hailing from France, proprietors Aymeric Clemente and Remi Laba teamed up in early 2008 to create a restaurant that encompasses the French Mediterranean lifestyle in atmosphere and cuisine.
The Little Tuscany retreat is centered on the idea of bringing family together. The young family of five emphasized their desire to create a home that was meant to be enjoyed by extended family and friends now, and for generations to come.
The convenient location of this large lot in west Austin attracted the new owners, but the 1980’s era suburban brick house that existed on the property didn’t align with their modern aesthetic, nor did it take advantage of the wooded natural setting.
When the new owner of this 1980s house called for a complete renovation, the architects saw the opportunity to transform its dark, dated interiors while taking better advantage of the home’s spectacular location atop a promontory offering a 180-degree view of Lake Austin and the rolling hills beyond.
