Designed to be the home of the contemporary man, the Aspen Apartment is the latest completed project of the Ambidestro Arquitetura office in Porto Alegre. With the smallest detail in mind, the apartment was designed for clients looking for a living space inspired by the great capitals of the world.
A housing unit that due to Barcelona´s rising rental apartment demand was divided, as it happens with theatre plays, in three acts. Located in the very heart of Poblenou it manages to reflect the neighbourhood’s industrial character while sequentially unfolding its spaces in a narrative manner.
The terrain that slopes gently towards the sea is typical of Cap Ferret: a small forest of strawberry tree, yucca and pines. The challenge was to design a modern holiday house that would exist in harmony with its surrounding landscape and have a limited impact on the existing vegetation.

Designed by Rick Joy Architects, this all-season home occupies a 1.5-acre, west facing site in Sun Valley, Idaho. Carefully sited on a steep hillside, the house was strategically positioned to maximize visual exposure to nearly 360-degree views and minimize disturbance to the native landscape.
Replacing a stark, all-white interior with a warm, wood-based palate proved to be a wise choice for the owners of this high-rise apartment. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Elliott Bay and downtown Seattle, the unit’s new oak finishes offer a welcome contrast to the often gray and rainy panorama.
Sited on a wooded hillside above the Central Oregon coast, the Neskowin Beach House occupies a small but dramatic site. The three-bedroom home is composed as a simple box of cedar, hemlock and stone, with subtle modulations that orient to the coastal landscape and surrounding mountains.
