The Pelham Road project was the complete refurbishment and extension of a dilapidated semi-detached house in South London. The clients wanted a bespoke four bedroom house and had some specific requirements, such as extending the ground floor to create a large and airy entertaining space.
The sloping site runs down to a lush garden to the West, where mature trees and outlook provide a beautiful protected rear garden. The clients, living in a high set Queenslander wanted to live on the garden level so that their young children can play outside without constant supervision and enjoy the garden.
This modern waterfront house was designed for a family of three generations. The house is sited on the property so as to organize the space around it into a series of distinct exterior rooms; an entry court, a sports field, a shaded courtyard, and a pool terrace.
The office CCPM Arquitectos founded in Buenos Aires by Constanza Chiozza and Pedro Magnasco has delivered its first project, PH Lavalleja. PH is the name given to a traditional housing typology in Buenos Aires, characterised by its high density and low rise.
For the internal conversion of a old rural house in Afsnee, JUMA sought to strike a balance between the authentic elements of the house and a newly designed contemporary interior. In the old situation, the large open spaces were last used as offices. JUMA transformed them into a logical sequence of warmly furnished living areas.
The project theme, in a way, was following the very first thought. The client appreciated various types of wood and dense, saturated colours. He wanted a rather dark and intense interior atmosphere. And those clear lines became a new tool of defining and outlining the exterior views inside the house.
This two storey loft is located in a residential neighborhood of São Paulo – Brazil – where the real estate investors are shaping the market into small apartments units (from 25 to 40 sqm). In a city where life happens mostly outdoors, it makes sense to spend just a few hours in closed living spaces.
The organic nature of construction successfully connects the outside with the inside and thus manages to convey an earthy feel through its free-flowing plan. This Indian brick house is a blend of various elements & building materials that are ‘azonic’, lending simplicity to the design.
