The project is located on the west coast of France, in the Cotentin region, where came waves of vikings from the 9th century. FREAKS has been commissioned to refurbish a preexisting concrete fishing shack built in the 50’s on a rock, on the beach, facing the sea.
The materialization is answering the desire to recover and/or emphasize the original condition of the traditional style house. A piece of natural terracotta is placed on a running board as the pavement and the walls are stripped to expose the original factory work with all its defects and textures.
Old Ljubljana house was designed by architect Emil Navinsek, known for innovation space concepts of a school non-corridor plan. He designed the house next to his residence for his two unmarried elderly sisters who lived together in a small surface of only 50m2 per floor.
With the ambition to create a local wine bar and restaurant emphasized by an intimate and cosy atmosphere that underlines a sense of presence, Nærvær is located in a fairly new and contemporary building. Situated in a prime location of Christianshavn overlooking the canal with a beautiful view Copenhagen’s old city centre, this new place hosts a local winebar as well
A lifetime spent in the boat-building industry provided the inspiration for this rusted steel cladding project. The location at the margin of the bay and exposed to the elements – wind and ocean called for a rugged response.
The house us built on a square lot of 600m2 in diameter, designed as an L shaped bench facing the gard. The two sides of the L-shape home contain the public functions, facing the yard and wrapped around the outdoor sitting area. The swimming pool is located at the back of the yard.
The house, located in Calders (a small village in the centre of Catalonia), is the new home to a couple with two children. The site is at the end of the village with the natural park of “Sant Llorenç del Munt i l´Obac” just in front.
Foley Ridge Cabin is a bedroom addition to an archetypal single-room dwelling. The project is located in a pristine natural landscape, accessible by a rugged dirt trail and situated on a steeply sloped clearing with a long view to Blue Ridge Mountains.
