Supermassive Games faced a pivotal moment in their growth trajectory. Having outgrown their shared office space, the game developers sought their own bespoke work environment to accommodate their expanding team. After successfully implementing the initial phase of their workplace growth plan at 65 Woodbridge Road, Supermassive Games expanded their footprint by securing two floors of workspace at the nearby Ranger House. This strategic move aimed to centralise all their teams within the gaming hub of Guildford, creating a connected campus environment with state-of-the-art facilities that would attract top industry talent.
Drawing on the knowledge gained from the initial Woodbridge Road project, Oktra’s design team seamlessly translated Supermassive Games’ working requirements, preferences, and brand into the new space. The new office space is a canvas for the client’s brand, with an exposed ceiling in the breakout area sprayed in their distinctive light blue colour. The neutral design allows for easy incorporation of graphics from their games, turning the office into a dynamic showcase of their work.
A dedicated cinema room and an expansive audio room, equivalent in size to two smaller rooms at the Woodbridge Road location, are tailored to support content creation, previews, and collaborative projects. The incorporation of meeting rooms, Zoom rooms and server rooms addresses specific needs that were previously unmet, ultimately supporting the company’s efficiency and growth.
This versatile workspace is equipped with advanced technological capabilities that align with Supermassive Games’ creative needs. The project integrated cutting-edge AV solutions, including Dolby Atmos Cinema Sound for an immersive experience. The soundproofed studio with a Foley pit enables the creation of specialised sound effects, while motion capture rooms can be used to replicate actions for game development.
Supermassive Games’ new offices have unified their teams in Guildford, while providing best-in-class facilities to inspire innovation and catalyse their success.
