Garden House Under a ‘Hanging-Basket’ Roof / Hayhurst

Garden House is a new home, studio and gallery under a ‘hanging-basket’ roof for Whitaker Malem: the artist and costume-maker duo behind works by Allen Jones, fashion designers Hussein Chalayan and Alexander McQueen and numerous film costumes including Harry Potter, Batman and Wonderwoman.

Edwardian Home in West London / Andy Martin Architecture

Little remained of the original grandeur but its elegant proportions of the Edwardian style. It was decided to divide the house in two, with the private areas confined to the original upper levels and the public areas to the new rear addition. It was important that two areas were clearly separated and could be seen on entry through the house.

Cat Hill Barn – 16th Century Barn Converted into a Modern House

Cat Hill Barn is a beautiful grade II listed barn built in the late 16th century, sitting in the rolling hills of Yorkshire. Despite a difficult process with the local planning officer Snook won planning permission on appeal. Key in winning the support of the appeal officer was the restrained aesthetic of the scheme which deliberately avoided being too domestic in appearance.
