When you think of mountain cabin, modern and funk aren’t words that come to mind. So we jumped at the opportunity when our clients talked about their dream of a small, modern chalet. Words like alpine, funk, and gezellig drove the design direction.
On the vast Lac Ouareau, located near the town of Saint-Donat, sits a charming traditional house surrounded by birch trees. The owners, a dynamic stepfamily, commissioned ACDF to design for their many children a larger area to play and relax.
The Chalet Potton consists of the blending of four cubic areas around a central space through which the site can be crossed from the arrival level to the lowest level leading to the lake. The cedar and spruce wood coverings distinguish each of the areas from the composition.
Alta Chalet is designed as a year-round weekend retreat for a family of five, comprising 3,000 square feet of efficiently planned living space spread over two storeys. Located near the end of a cul-de-sac in a private ski club development

Built with stones from the 16th century chalet Concept is the oldest house in the hamlet Rochebin in the Pays de la Loire, Département Vendée, France.
