For the design of this new house, JUMA Architects was specifically asked to develop a compact yet highly livable plan.
Our response is to use an eclectic but carefully chosen palette of materials and colours to give the house this painterly and textured quality. A main component of the design is a concrete and timber tree which rises from the garden.
The Fountain Villa is a renovated weekend house from the era of the First Republic. When we first saw it, it didn’t look like it does today. It was burdened with deposits that had stuck to it over the years, and its First Republic spark was long gone.
The apartment was built for a family, a couple and two young children. The Qbik Loft included a selection of finishing materials. In addition, we have designed solid furniture: kitchen, bathrooms, wardrobes.

Suddenly we had created a dense, heavy, monolithic cover roof that needed to be subverted, giving an idea of levitating mass that is slightly lying on light wood and glass.
