With commercial spaces and amenities below, floors two through six of the Lucille on Roosevelt apartments feature a diverse unit mix composed of studios, open one-bedrooms, one-bedrooms, one-bedroom-plus-dens, and two-bedroom apartments.
Hood Canal Boat House and Cottage, Olympic Peninsula, Washington
This little building is the re-imagination of an existing boathouse that had no windows, one door, and no charm. It is conceived as a building that can turn itself inside out, offering a protective layer of concrete block and steel to the outside with the warmth of marine plywood on the inside.
Harry’s Beach House, a Surf and Turf Chic Restaurant in West Seattle
Located along Alki Beach in West Seattle, Harry’s Beach House is the cousin of Harry’s Fine Foods located on Capitol Hill and reflects the same spirit of welcome and home. The Beach House imagines a kind of surf and turf chic that is both nostalgic and fresh.
Rupee Restaurant, Seattle / Heliotrope Architects
Owners Joe Sundberg, Rachel Johnson, and Patrick Thalasinos have opened their second restaurant on a small neighborhood street in Seattle. Rupee, a follow up to the trio’s well-regarded restaurant Manolin—also designed in collaboration with Heliotrope Architects—was built entirely by the owners themselves.

This downtown Seattle condominium captures the essence of the Pacific Northwest. An existing apartment was stripped to the studs and reworked to create a warm and masculine urban retreat for an Alaska-based bachelor.
Irwin Caplan Midcentury, Seattle / SHED Architecture & Design
Originally designed for Irwin Caplan, the illustrator who designed the poster for the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair and cartoonist renowned for his “Famous Last Words” comic strip in The Saturday Evening Post …
