Vista Mar Apartment by Beatriz Quinelato offers a holiday escape designed for a young couple with two children and two dogs. Situated by the sea, the apartment serves as a weekend and vacation home where the family can see their children grow, host friends, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. The design emphasizes natural light, fresh air, and a refined beach-inspired aesthetic, combining comfort with elegance.

Meeting the Owners’ Expectations

The family wanted a space that reflected their memories of Riviera, where they had spent holidays as children. They requested a guest room that would not displace their kids, a spacious sofa for the entire family—including the dogs—and a beachy vibe without clichés. Beatriz Quinelato responded with a flexible layout, light materials, and furniture that balances practicality with warmth. As a result, Vista Mar Apartment feels both personal and welcoming.

The Kitchen as a Starting Point

The design began with the kitchen, which faces the main entrance. To solve the challenge of a technical space greeting guests, the architect concealed all appliances—two refrigerators, a dishwasher, and the hood—within custom joinery. Blue hydraulic tiles introduced vibrancy and became the anchor for the entire project. From this starting point, the design language expanded into the social areas, ensuring visual cohesion and charm throughout the apartment.

Materials That Define Atmosphere

Beatriz Quinelato selected natural textures and tones to create harmony. A stone wall behind the sofa grounds the living room and sets the palette of beige and brown. In the gourmet area, Itaunas granite with a rustic finish adds depth and texture. Meanwhile, wood finishes and textiles soften the interiors, bringing a sense of balance. Even the laundry, located close to the social spaces, received special treatment with a colorful ceiling and fine finishes, making Vista Mar Apartment feel more integrated and cohesive.

Spaces Tailored to Each Family Member

Every family member enjoys a personalized room. The master suite functions as a neutral-toned retreat, where layered textures enhance comfort. The daughter’s bedroom feels delicate but versatile, designed to adapt as she transitions from crib to bed. The son’s room encourages play, offering space for toys while keeping the décor simple. Guests can stay in a flexible room that includes lightweight furniture and a pull-out bed, ensuring practicality without compromise.

Art, Details, and Personality

The intimate hall transforms into a gallery with a textile wall sculpture by Eva Soban. This installation adds movement, depth, and color to a narrow corridor. The powder room introduces boldness with a Guatemala green marble countertop and a sculptural mirror. These elements demonstrate how even smaller areas can express personality and leave a lasting impression.

Vista Mar Apartment as a Contemporary Coastal Refuge

Ultimately, Vista Mar Apartment by Beatriz Quinelato blends family needs with contemporary coastal design. The project celebrates memory, hospitality, and daily rituals, while natural materials and abundant light connect the interior with its seaside setting. Through thoughtful choices and attention to detail, the apartment becomes more than a holiday retreat—it turns into a timeless refuge for family and friends.
