This house, built by Dwell Development, is the first Built Green Emerald Star certified home in Seattle. Emerald Star certified homes must achieve net zero energy usage by way of generating electricity from a renewable source. Built with reclaimed wood and metal siding, the house is the perfect compliment to the surrounding trees and the Seattle sunshine.
Description by Dwell: We are excited to announce the completion of this stunning high-performance home in the heart of Ballard! As our 100th Built Green certified home, we took green building to a whole new level of energy efficiency for a net positive lifestyle. We incorporated a host of green technology and reclaimed materials to help this home meet the rigorous requirements on the Emerald Star Checklist set forth by the Built Green Residential Building Program from the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties.
