Interior and Product Design for Record Mania

Interior and product design for Record Mania – one of the most prominent record stores worldwide. The twenty square meter shop in the heart of Södermalm, Stockholm, releases hundreds of rare collectable vinyl records each week. Their large turnover of records making it a new store every Friday.

The idea behind the interior is based around the same concept as the visual identity — with the keyword “change”. The custom built shelving system — which uses the same grid with holes as the visual identity — has no screws and can be disassembled, combined or modified for different purposes. This makes it easy to change the display of the store.

The modular shelving system is made in MDF-boards and pine dowels and the boxes are made in pine plywood making it a really inexpensive solution. The colour scheme of the interior is all raw material combined with white and grey so that the records will stand out in the environment. Information and photos from Bedow Design Studio
