Notting Hill Apartment is a elegant and cozy home designed by London designer Louise Holt.
From the designer: With a brief to take a lateral apartment and transform it into an amazing home. The design was to be urban but elegant with strong statement furniture, lighting and finishes to showcase our clients’ art collection.
We rearranged the layout of the existing spaces, redesigning bathrooms and the kitchen and introducing bespoke wall and floor finishes using materials commissioned especially for the apartment.
To create a feeling of a gallery space we designed bespoke furniture and joinery throughout the whole apartment including a bronze fireplace hiding a TV and an amazing semi-circular outdoor terrace to fit within the arch of an old chapel. The furniture and chandeliers to complete the interior were sourced from galleries in New York and throughout Europe mixing vintage with modern pieces.
The master bedroom suite was completely remodelled to create two separate dressing areas and an elegant master bathroom. We designed bespoke joinery throughout mixing bronze framed doors with antique glass and bronze inlay and grey wood wardrobes. The walls were finished in a bespoke polished plaster.
“Louise has been a fantastic partner during all phases of the work done at our Notting Hill flat. She has great ideas and knows how to execute them with building teams and craftsmen. When it comes to interior design she has pushed us to new ideas and concepts all while respecting our constraints – whether taste or budget. But maybe most importantly she has been an absolute joy to work with – kind, funny and patient” Photography by Andrew Beasley
