Vancouver Courtyard House is a study in scale and proportion. The central three-sided courtyard serves to introduce light and air into the center of a relatively long and narrow floor plan, effectively introducing a third ‘middle yard’ to the otherwise typical front and rear yards.
To integrate the Annisquam River House more fully with its natural surround, we took our client’s suggestion to plant a tree which extends up though the second-floor deck.
The House U is built on a rectangular base inside which is extruded a rectangular space, giving to the house a sort of large exterior room open to the sky, protected from winds and vis-Ã -vis.

Overlooking the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, Killora Bay House is a seasonal holiday home designed for a young family and friends. The house siting and form is heavily conditioned by its delicate environmental setting.
From the shell of an old barn comes “Casa Bona”. The renovation project emphasises the contrast between the aesthetic lines of the existing building and the new construction elements included in the project.
