The Travessa Dom Vasco apartment occupies the last floor of a mid-20th-century building, refurbished in the 80’s. The flat is split into two levels: the one below – an ordinary residence; the one above – a terrace of scarce use, where an informal storage construction is placed.
On the edge of Lake Michigan, this property contains both dense woods and a bluff to the sandy shore. Our challenge was to create a new, energy-efficient, low-maintenance vacation home that could comfortably accommodate multiple generations.
Bulleen residence is a 440m2 new modern family home located in the lush green area of Bulleen, Victoria. The client’s brief was for a house which works with the site conditions to create a home which felt open, light filled, natural and connected to that garden.
Inside, the new home features an open floor plan and a natural palette of steel, concrete and walnut. Spaces are connected by central elements such as a custom cast-in-place concrete fireplace, steel and walnut stair, and a 18’ basalt tile feature wall.
Set atop a deep ravine along Lake Michigan, the Ravine house embraces the beauty and drama of the landscape. An intermittent pattern of carefully composed windows within a limestone-paneled wall creates both a sense of privacy against the street and sculptural patterning for the façade.
This apartment with a total area of 43.72 m2 is located in a modern residential multi-family housing in Moscow, Russia. The customer is a young IT specialist who spends a lot of time outside this apartment. The main idea was to organize a large open space with maximum natural light. A set of furniture was planned to be minimal.
The building is situated in the countryside near Genoa, surrounded by a chestnut trees woods. Before the refurbishment works, the house was characterized by a long corridor that completely cut the flat, leading to the several rooms arranged on both its sides.
Composing of blue, green and gold copper colour, the visional motif is contrasting but harmonious. As if Henri Matisse’s famous painting “The Dance II”, with orange colour blending in discordant blue and green pigments, reveals a vibrant art style which called Les Fauves.
