The new system of this Italian stone house stands on ancient remains dating back to Medieval Communes. Linked to each other on the hypogeum level, the structures rest on a red concrete platform (38 X 20 mt) dominating the surrounding landscape.
The MAD house is a multi-adult dwelling in Vancouver. Housing three sets of adults from the same family within a 2880 square foot volume, the home was designed to allow for wide open shared public spaces and private separated suites.
A slide-out bed on a lightweight perspex sled lives beneath the platform during the day. Modular storage seating and a flip-down table locked in place and supported by the bookends from the wall shelves above provide added flexibility in the use of space.
