Naustreitur is at the juncture of Reykjavík´s lively harbourfront, Kvosin (downtown) and the original Vesturbær. The larger city block is defined by the streets Grófin, Vesturgata, Norðurstígur and Tryggvagata.
Danforth Addition – The existing front gable was enlarged to provide a small study with a triangular window that fills the front third floor facade
Modern additions bookend the front and back of this existing two storey house providing a striking contrast with the original 1960’s design.
The residents of this grand house in the Withrow Park area of Toronto were looking to replace their existing rear addition that was in a poor state of repair.
The metamorphosis of this Toronto-area bungalow was driven by the desire to increase the usability of existing space and a deep respect for the energy embodied in existing materials.
Manitoulin Island Off-Grid House sits quietly on a coastal property on Lake Huron. Varied ceiling heights, expansive sliding doors, and well-placed windows bring light into the home that changes throughout the day and the seasons.
The story of Kahshe Lake Cottage started in 1987, when the parents of Solares’s own Tom Knezic bought the water-access property and built a small bunkie as a temporary shelter.
