Strömma Projekt in collaboration with Max Holst Arkitektkontor have completed a single story vacation house located on an island on the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden.
Description by Strömma Projekt: Located in the Stockholm Archipelago is this hilly plot with its pine trees and bilberries. It has a dramatic topography with the main building resting on a ridge next to a ravine.
The house rests on a foundation of black concrete plinths and is characterized by its wood feeling that is enhanced by the nearby trees. Its dark timber exterior interacts naturally with the surroundings and the high ceiling and large windows facing in all direction makes the house very spacious.
A living room, combined kitchen and dining area are divided by the hallway and bathroom, while the rest of the house consists of two smaller and a master bedroom.
The wooden stairs outside leads to a deck with a barbecue and outside dining area. From here, there is a path to the firewood heated sauna with a great view and a wooden tub.
