Saganaki House has an area of 72 square meters and is located in Paris. With a triangular shape geometry, this small Parisian house was completed in 2015 by Bump Architects.
Description by Bump Architects: The project is the extension of a small parisian triangular house, built on a plot of 26m2. The existing home, organized on three levels, had few qualities: complex geometry, difficult to furnish and live, reduced surfaces, low quality construction, and dark with a mono-oriented north facade.
Project features are structural independence of new construction (Micro piles-special foundations), creation a first additional level conforming to the geometry of the maximum plot so as to optimize the usable area, and the construction of a Second level, off-axis, allowing both to gain a new orientation (west) and remove two small roof terraces.
In addition to the existing façade (plaster, unmodified), the new levels have a differentiated architectural style: zinc cladding for the first, wooden cladding for the second, so express both the stack, the hierarchy and the singularity of the spaces created.
By the same logic, the four staircases of this Parisian five levels house are not superimposed and have geometries and different aspects . On and travels home “from the basement to the attic” until the terrace, so sequenced and varied, crossing floors identity clean.
The custom furniture optimizes storage space while highlighting the complex geometry of the plan. The use of color (white) and materials (wood) for all finishes (floor, wall, ceiling) and interiors, creates the link between levels and brings comfort and clarity to living spaces.
